Bennett’s Family Bakers was founded and run by Claude Bennett from 1951 until he retired in 1965 when his son Anthony took over and, together with his wife Margaret, continued the tradition of providing quality baking to the people of Poole and Bournemouth in Dorset.
In 1982 their youngest son Mark joined his brother and sister as part of the 3rd generation of baking in the family. Over the next 10 years Mark established himself as one of the country’s leading cake decorators, winning more than 100 national and international gold medals.
In 1987 Mark’s outstanding skills were recognized when he was chosen to make and decorate a Royal Wedding cake for the Duke and Duchess of York.
In 1995, Mark’s dedication to his craft and passion for European bread and patisserie led to him attending the Richemont Bakery School in Lucerne, widely regarded as the best academy of its type in the world. The knowledge and skills he gained there, and from his extensive travels throughout Europe, are now brought to you in Mark’s exciting new venture.
